Tonight i managed to get my first shot at WSID in my BF2 XT. I managed 4 runs over the course of the night with a best of 14.883 at 95.66mph on the 3rd run which i was pretty happy with. I went into the night hoping to simply do a 15.0, as a mate had ran 15.2 in a VZ SV6 and i could get ahead of that on the street. Mods are just full Hurricane/Redback exhaust and SS Inductions Growler.
I started out slow, 34psi in the tyres still, no burnout and no stall, and managed 15.323s and 94.55mph which i thought should have plenty of improvement left. The next run one of my mates suggested keeping TC on as i'd left the line the first time with a bit of wheelspin and he thought it was worth trying. I made a last minute decision to drop the pressures to 30psi as well, but went slightly slower with 15.386s and 94.53mph. 3rd and fastest of the night TC went back off and pressures dropped further to 25psi. That was also the first run i did a burnout before staging and went with a slight stall at launch. 4th and final run we dropped the pressures further to 20psi and i was intending on doing a bigger burnout and stall. Burnout didnt go quite to plan as i wanted to crawl towards the line as opposed to a simple static burnout in the water. In the moment trying to line up right and get her stalled, i completely forgot i'd still had it in manual mode for the burnout and didnt realise until i was bouncing off the limiter in 1st and could only do 15.733s and 89.41mph, but the run was always going to be slower looking at the 60' and 330' times. I was a little dissapointed only to get 4 runs in, i definately couldve gotten an earlier run in but i took my time getting registered and through scrutineering, and there were a few delays with the odd droop of rain. I'm hoping to get back next week though and try running without my LH headlight. I was pretty happy though overall as looking around and my mates talking to a few people they saw a few XR6T's running 14.9-15.1's and a BA XT running 16.2 i think. |

That is not a bad effort at all for the mods you have. Has she been tuned?

some of the other Street Fighter cars were running 14.5's to 15.3's in the last Track Championship Round last weekend. you wouldn't want to run the pressures any lower than 25 psi, ish (especially when the track is colder) as they'll start to go away on you, like i did to me last saturday night when i drop my Et streets to 13 (tp gauge showed 16 but still too low) result= after a 3500 launch, i spun all the way to 1/8 mile marker and lost semi final . when i do my burnout i feed the brake pedal to roll the car out of the water patch (i have a 5 speed manual) and then lift off throttle to stop it all before the pre stage beams. plenty of practice will get you going right.
