Good Point, anyone passionate enough about their car to join a club or even just a forum especially if participating in club cruises should think about the oil collection depot thing. Last edited by muso; 20-05-2011 at 11:01 PM. |

While I'm not too keen about kids doing burnouts pouring oil down storm water drains dose more harm. |

What this thread has shown me (and no doubt many others who have and will read it) is that most car enthusiasts are considerate, sensible and responsible and Davo I don't know where you've gone but don't change, you're a Bloody Legend, too good for Tasmania

While i agree it's not really a good idea to throw the old oil down the drain, for many inconvieniant reasons, what's the harm in turfing it down a hole (man made of course) in a crappy patch spot out in th back yard?

If you mix it with crushed gravel (say on a path in the backyard, or for a gravel driveway), you're guaranteed to be weed free for around 10 years. Maybe we should turn this into a thread on the best uses for old sump oil. Number eleventy billion would be tipping it down the drain (at that ranking, I am suggesting it is NOT a good thing to do).
