Hey fellas. I'm attempting to change the nut on the high pressure line, called up Ford and they note that there are two different types, one for early builds (which is $20) and another for later builds (which is $14) Anybody able to share info on what changed with the fitting? I have a MAY 99 build which according to Ford requires the early type, like everything AU 1 many parts seemed inferior and were upgraded, is it possible to use the later fitting?

Probably not, it's a big conspiracy to make you pay an extra $6 and last 50,000klms less.

Hi mate.
I've got a spare one for a series two XR8. If you find out they're the same I can post it for $10 to your door. Maybe check with Zane from Southside Ford who are a sponsor here. Cheers, Ian

Cheers for the offer mate, but turns out you can't use the later fittings, the early ones were just a nut and the pipe pokes out the end, where as the later fittings are all one.

I just have the nut to suit the series two from the power steering pump end.
http://www.fordforums.com.au/showthread.php?t=11330416 Was this what you were looking for 5.0? It connects to the hose with a circlip.

The later Fitting BA 3F656 B WILL fit your AU pwr strg hose no worries, you just have to hacksaw off the old fitting and out the NEW one on, much better too.

PANUP, the early fitting ends just after the thread in your picture, its about half the size, should have taken a picture of it. Unfortunately already purchased the part earlier this morning, was told by the spares bloke that there is no way the later fitting will fit.
