G'day all,
I've been planning on building a v8 sprintcar style gocart for a long time and now its in the design and layout stage. So i'm trying to find some plans or blueprints to base my design off of. I've looked over the net but not alot of luck, lots of rc stuff but i'm going full scale. I really want to work out how they setup the rear, overall width. Length is not really a problem as i'll probably have to make it a touch longer as i think they run direct drive i think, but i'll be running an auto. Any help or ideas would be great. I can't wait to start it should be alot of fun, half the fun will be in the building. My mates a top notch boilermaker and i'm no novice when it comes to the mechanical side and we already have some stuff so we are hoping to build one hell of a toy lol. Cheers, preston. |

I would suggest befriending a sprintcar racer and ask to take a few measurements off their rig. Some might get a bit wary if they think you are going to copy their car and race against them, but if you explain what you want then I would imagine most would be ok with that. Failing that, how about buying some off a current sprintcar chassis builder. I bought plans and materials for a drag car off Rod Andrews. He was very helpful
