hi guys,
i am selling my fairlane, as i hardly drive it and i want to buy a car that will be a weekender. i wanted to buy a Sprint, but finding it hard to find one. so i am thinking about finding another car that is a future collectible car.. something special to the ford community, that i will look after. and a car that will increse in value instead of decrease any ideas? i am thinking things like; ESP's Dick Johnson Grand Prix SVO's AVO's AIT's Brock's Moffat's AJR's anything else i am missing? anyone know of anything speacial for sale?

It all depends on your budget...your sprint finding has been going on for a while and Ive seen what seems to be some good ones over the past 12 months.

To be honest, I think the tickford range including XRs (not only T series) will be collectible in the future.

Have you considered AU Rebels/Pursuits? Like some others have said a T-Series would be good, but prices are still high for a decent one. Not too sure if they will drop again before they stabilise?

my car is a great buy if you have the right budget...
buy a car that you like more than what others think will increase in value, that way you can enjoy it rather than focus on the investment side of it |

All cars depreciate in value, it's not until they get old and there's not many around that they start becoming collectable.
So in 20 years your Fairlane will probably be worth more than it is today (if you can get fuel for it)

Sometimes you have to wait a while...my mate bought his XYGT back in 1980, with fully retrimmed interior and new paint, for $4100. He sold it in the 1990's for $30,000.
It would be worth way more now, but not as much as during the "spike" in prices when they went a bit nuts. Probably as with the share market, you have to be lucky enough to pick the right "stocks", buy low, and sell high before the inevitable crash. |

Hey Josh, I have just replied to your PM, there's four for sale on carsales at the monent, two white ones and two poly green ones. The poly green manual would be my pick (love poly green) but each to their own.

Someone posted a car last week that was a trial run, think it was an EA turbo with 280kw.
IMO that is a car you should be getting your hands on ;) |
