And the problem with that is?

My old XF with the 3 speed was a terrific ute.
Had over 250,000 km when I sold her, never let me down ever and never touched apart from routine maintenance.
A lack of gears doesn't mean a thing, the 3 speed box is probably tougher than what the first 5 speeds were.

Cheap, easy to maintain, and reliable, something that Ford was built on.

Me either. They are the same platform as the laser, so they are very reliable and they have the fun of a soft top and firmer suspension. I have a turbo model and the boss has a non turbo. Went for a blast up beechmont road yesterday and it was great fun.
