Default which meguiars product?

i was trying to touch up some stone chips, paint was a bit gummy and too much went onto the chips. stupidly, i tried to dab the excess off which predictably caused it to spread onto the adjecent area by 1-2 mm or so all around. it dried super quick, leaving marks on the surrounding paint that look like dried sap.

what product would you use for this? i was thinking either the scratchX or Ultimate Compound... suggestions?

Try the ultimate compound. I don't think scratch X will actually remove any paint.

Default Re: which meguiars product?

Meguiars do not really make a product for this, even though I use Meguiars detailing products for all my cars, unfortunately Mothers is the only one that makes a product specially to repair stone chips and to smooth out the paint dabs when touching up.

The product is California Gold Paint Chip Repair, its a small bottle of stuff that smoothes out the paint dab and flattens it out with the paint, have used it plenty of times and when used correctly results are very good.

It's a bit hard to find some times, but it is out there if you look around.
