So I bought a camry for the wife and it was a gas guzzler first of all. Then the trims were falling off and hoodlining coupled with a gutless 4 cylinder engine.
Then central locking started failing at 80000 kays. Seriously I don't think they deserve their reputation. As with mine a friend had the same problems. I am ranting away but seriously what a let down .

I'm sorry to hear you've had a bad run out of your toyota.
For every story about a bad toyota there are 100 stories of good runs my old man had a camry for 15 years and 2xx,xxx klms, never serviced the automatic transmission, never had problems.

cuts both ways, all the ford Ive had have never had any major problems ( except EA ) and my Ford use SFA fuel ddriving them hard. The reputation Toyo's have is just another example of the herd mentality. If enough people say its so it becomes so.

Was the thread title a spur of the moment thing, or did you spend a couple of weeks working on it.....

Most rate Toyota as a manufacture of good cars. They seem to go forever.

Truth is they are very overated in my personal opinion and not deserving in my eyes as such a great car. Even the TRD aurion was blowing engines.

Toyota's quality is nowhere near where it used to be. That has been proven by the series of recalls they have done over the past year. They have started cutting corners due to the simple fact that they expanded too quickly, and could never get enough trained engineers to fill vacancies. Workloads increased for the engineers they had and things were getting missed that would have been picked up previously.
Falcons TGW ratings are better than Aurion by the way. |

Well I am one of "those" people who love Toyota's. We had a Hilux for 12yrs and just couldn't kill it! and we punished that car.
I currently own a Rav4 and love it. Each to their own Cheers Col

My sisters Rav4 cruiser did a gearbox just before she traded it in. Not all Toyota's are POS's, but when they do let go, they seem to go in a big way.
Sorry to hear of your issues with yours Stav.
