Default Passenger side vents removal & undercar knocking

Evening all,

Im wanting to replace the passenger side vent housing/facing. Now I know its only held in by 2 screws, the part that i cant figure out is removing the panel that covers the passenger airbag so I can get to those screws. Whats the safest, least damaging method of doing this?

Cheers

EDIT: One more thing, my au1 forte seems to have one part collide with another part whenever I go over a bump. I can only feel it on my feet & get no feeling through the steering wheel. Ive checked the exhaust system & it feels firmly in place. Any ideas?

you just prise the cover off. the mounts snap you can't avoid that they are designed to break easily to deploy the airbag but they are cheap enough from ford

Ill take this as a "last resort" method . Hopefully theres less destructive means. If anyone else can confirm this method, i guess ill have to do it.

there is no other method unfortunatly but the clips are only a few dollars. the clips lock in once inserted and are not unlockable except by breaking them
