I let mine drive it until it came home missing a fair amount of paint up the side.

apparently you can drive through concrete pillars in undercover shopping centers.

Luckily, it's only paint and no panel damage, and she's happy to pay the repairs.

Yeah, my missus just drives me up the #$@%&*% wall.

And all women should be banned from driving, just like in Saudi Arabia.

Steve freaks out when I take the ute...particularly if he can't see it...and I can understand that, it's his pride and joy. But he still lets me take it...normally I'm only a few k's up the road, but it's not my car, he can thrash the living daylights out of it...I won't. I'm automatically covered on the insurance so that's not a problem, but I avoid driving my Nissan cos it's a POS and doesn't go as fast...

My Better half will:

-Not drive the Megane, because it is manual, and "too scary, too jumpy and bumpy"

-Drive the XR6T, and drive it with a heavy foot because it "feels cool"

-Drive the F6, get out and say "that is dangerous, you be careful in that car please.."

My wife cant drive a manual and flat out refuses to let me teach her. My win?? Well to compensate for buying a "Me" car, as she puts it, I have to always make sure her car is first in the driveway in case she needs to go out. But if she did want to learn I'd let her drive it. But for now she just sits in the passenger seat and tells me to "slow down, its too noisy!"

! Well said, there are some women that can give some male drivers a run for their money. I'm new to this forum and must say I am enjoying the debate if the g/f, partner can drive your car. I am always having fights with hubby because he won't let me buy a V8. My son currently has a 2003 XR8 and I'm even trying to convince him to sell it to me. So far no luck but I will get it one day.

I can't remember why but for some reason years ago the Mrs had to drive the ESP around the block, the combination of a Top Loader and a VERY heavy twin plate clutch made it impossible for her to drive, she went around the whole block in First! Got out and said she never wants to drive it again.

After driving my BFII for a few months, the car went from being unmarked to being covered in stone chips and a cracked spotlight lens. She will not be touching it from now on.

I got all squirmy in the crotch when my missus drove mine, something about a cute girl and a way over the top manual car.

Yeah makes sense that you'd prefer an unlicenced girl to drive your car rather than your parents.

i let any of my mates and family drive any of our cars, and unless most of you that answer NO to the above are in newish relationships with your partner, i dont understand why you dont let your other half drive your cars, i let my wife drive my car from day 1 in our relationship, 8 years on she works, she makes a wage, she can drive, the payments and insurance money comes from 1 bank account so why should i have any right to say she cant drive any of our cars??

Don't bang your head so hard buddy i will explain it to you. When you drive to work everyday down single lane 100km roads and you are so close to a truck that's carrying building materials or a car that drifts slightly in the gravel embankment throwing stones at your car that is soo close behind, those stones actually cause what's known as 'stone chips'.

Simple really.
