Hi Guys, have a very annoying problem appeared recently which has a few mechanics scratching their heads -(
Pads and Rotors changed, all checked by same outfit and mechanic that has serviced the car for the last 4 years no problems... now we have a type of squeak that can realy only be heard if running at 100km's along the motorway against a barrier to get the sound to bounce back at you. It would sound like it's coming from the R/F wheel or brake assembly, the noise stops when applying the brakes... (have checked handbrake - no difference) we have since gone through 2 more sets of rotors and pads, new calipers etc, coils and shocks checked... driving us NUTS !! please help.. |

Hi guys,
This squeak can sometimes come from the contact between the pad and the caliper. There sometimes is a bit of movemnet which makes it squeak. When you apply the brakes the movement is stopped by the pressure of the piston. There is a CRC product called "Disc Brake Quiet" which you apply to the back of the pads to eliminate this.
