Default RDA directional slotted rotors . which way ?

ok fitted the rotors today , they had stickers on them saying left and right .
i assumed left is left when your sitting in the car . ie passenger side . and right is drivers side . this is the way i fitted them .
so as the car goes forward . the slot starts at the inner part of the disc and tapers out to the outside , so if you look at the car the slots are facing backwards .
as far as wind vains go they are kangaroo paw type .

THAT DRAWING CONTRADICTS ITS OWN HIGHLIGHTED PARAGRAPH . i beieve that drawing is incorrect . the air vanes are correct , but the slots are wrong and don't coincide with what is written . .
centrifical forces throw air outwards and the vanes assist , throwing the dust from the outside in simply goes against physics , as the dust will simply try to go outwards again , this would create build up and hot spots .
sorry but i think that drawing is wrong , and its own paragraph contradicts the drawing in relation to the slots .

Only thing critical is the direction of the vanes (if angled/curved) slots are purely cosmetic

From your thread:
Quote:
Understand OE (Honda) or stock (aftermarket) rotors are all non-directional meaning with straight vanes, but RB upgrades and makes the rotors to directional (curved) vanes even for one piece rotor. Don?t know if you purchased one piece or two-piece rotors. However we all know the 'vane' direction is what important than 'slot' direction which is more cosmetic than any significance of performance and every mfgr / user are entitled to have their own opinion.
As we stated in our previous answer if the rotors are non-directional or ?straight? vane you may install whatever you feel right but since RB rotors have curved vanes so you must install them as recommended
.

Quote:
Slotted rotors
As with the plain rotors discussed above, the internal vanes should lean toward the back of the car.* The direction of the slots on the outside of the rotor do not dictate whether the rotor is a left or a right.* For rotors with slots machined in the same direction as the internal cooling vanes, the slots should lean toward the back of the car.* For rotors with slots machined in the opposite direction as the internal cooling vanes, the slots should lean toward the front of the car.* Bottom line - don't use the slots to decide which side to mount the rotor.* Pay attention to the internal cooling vanes.

For slotted rotors with straight internal cooling vanes, the direction of the slots is totally up to you and what you think looks best.* In this case, there is no wrong answer.

ok as stated buy the brake man, the outer slots pays no relevance in direction.
if the internal cooling vanes are strait up you mount any way you like.

if the internal vanes are sloped/radius'd they should sweep from the centre to the outer in a forward rotation.

GTP,

My understanding is that based on you having 'kangaroo paw' internats in the disc, the way you have the slots doesn't really matter, but do look better when they are 'leant back' as you have them.

Cheers,

Hally

Maybe they didnt like the part about buying discs with cosmetic slots, like auto make-up.

I actually thought the slots were to stop the pad glazing.
