Default To disconnect or not BA ICC Speaker Output

Hi

Im about to install aftermarket headunit into BA.

I can find all the wires i need to hook the unit up, but what I want to know is, can i just tap into the already connected speakers wires on the icc, or do i need to CUT them so i dont send signals into the ICC from my new deck, or is this an old wives tale?

I would prefer to tap into them as everything is just there behind the ICC instead of having to run new cabling to each speaker.

Cheers.
