Default Festiva starting problems. Help needed

My daughter's WB Festiva wouldn't run recently and the RAC told her that the fuel pump was cactus so we replaced it with a non gen item from a local parts supplier.
The car cranks but does not fire and run.
I replaced the plugs, cleaned out the fuel filter and dizzy cap/rotor arm.
Fuel is now pumping past the fuel filter but she still wont fire even though we have spark.
The battery has been fully recharged.
My question is whether there are any simple things that I am overlooking here.
It should be so basic but it's got me stumped.
Any suggestions would be welcomed greatly.
Thanks.
