As mentioned, i doubt the crooks will give a damn about a speed camera when they are in a stolen car.. It certainly won't stop police pursuits...

However, if the cops know that the car is approaching one of the high tech cameras, and if the camera is as good as it says, then perhaps a nice clear photo will allow the cops to catch up with the crim another day, and allow an early termination of the pursuit..
