sweet!

I recieved a standard early EL2 XR8 manifold last night, and I really couldn't believe how restrictive the intake just after the t/b is!!!....

I'm going to port it all out, so I should hopefully get better flow out of the HO manifold...

The rest of the manifold will cop a massive porting too, then I'll just have to port the heads for both the intake and exhaust sides...

Fun times ahead... Not, Lol

Dont bother porting the HO manifold, just get an Explorer one, not that expensive these days anyway.

Basic combo, GT40P heads, Explorer manifold, 65mm TB, 70mm MAF, Paceys or HM headers (unless you fork out for DiFillipo's) and a decent exhaust.

Heres pics of my converted EB1 GL V8

Had the above listed goodies, with a twin 2.5" exhaust, single muffler each side, dropped before the diff with pipes facing down at a 45deg angle.
Sounded epicly tough and no drone whatsoever!

Also, just for wagon lovers:

I was sitting in traffic in Bendigo (Vic) today and heard something powering thru an intersection .. was a v8 E-series wagon (not sure what model .. only saw the side). There's just something about V8 wagons .. something we've been taught recently shouldn't exist .. but thanks to Holden and the sportswagon that's changing again. I remember in my youth all the X-series V8 wagons people owned (and the unmentionable H-series V8 Holden ones).

Nice one with the E-series wagons

I love how you guys can have a proper twin system! Whoever decided that the fuel tank in the sedans had to go where it is was a kill joy. One of the great benefits of going straight gas in my EL Ghia will be to have one pipe on each side as it should be.

The only thing my wagon doesn't have is a V8.

Certainly tempting to consider a conversion though LOL

Cheers

You have enough Barra engines in your garage that you could sell them all and buy a T-series engine :P
