Default front brake lines - what tool to undo?

Changing my brakes over in the next few weeks and I am wondering what tool I will need to undo the brake lines? I struck trouble when trying once before and didnt want to break it.

if its the end where the flexible hose connects to the metal line there is a cir clip which a small flat head can be used to pop out a bit then pointy nose pliers to pull off

If you are refering to the joint between the hard line a flexi line, i use a high quality pair of vice grips and clamp them on real tight, flat on flat ie front of the grips on the flat sides of the nut, just use them to crack it . pull the clip out after undoing the nut. I've tried spanners over the years and they usually strip and you end up using vice grips anyway,

10mm 6 point crow's foot spanner, followed by vice grips if it strips

That or a decent set of pipe spanners. using vice grips 1st up is stupid as vice grips leave teeth marks and makes it hard to get any spanner on ever again.

Haven't heard them called that before so I wasn't sure. ;)

Right tool for the right job + common sense and there is no problem.
