Quick update.. Nolathane confirmed they sent the wrong parts, and are now shipping me a drivers side arm direct..

I will have a spare Passenger side arm Shav :P

No stress Shav, will look after you ;)

Got the replacement arm yesterday, overnight shipped direct from Nolathane! Very happy..

Took the car for a quick spin and she defiantly feels tighter in the rear end, certainly noticeable.. Although when you compare the stiffness of the nolathane bushes compared to the stock ones it's not too surprising.. Next on the list will be watts link bushes I think..

About to head up the sunny coast, so will report back after todays 300odd km drive!

Shav its well worth the money my au runs like its on rails too bad it will prob never get whiteline swaybars and a new wattslink as the plans iv got it for at this stage dose not warrent the need for them

Well she rained all day yesterday, so really didn't get a chance to feel how much different it feels, today she was nice and fine so got a good chance to feel the difference... and WOW is all I can say, the rear end feels SO much tighter I really can't believe it, when pushing the limits through corners the rear end is so much more planted, and once the "limit" is reached it's SO much more predictable, I am really surprised at the difference. Possibly the best $600 odd I have ever spent on suspension.. The car certainly rides a bit firmer, but not enough that it's unbearable (even with my 19's).. I am now contemplating getting my front end done too..

FYI - I am running Bilstein coilovers in the front, Kings Superlows and Boge Short travel shocks and upgraded swar bars front and rear..

wow...Thanks fellas for you input. This certainly makes me want to do this sooner rather than later. Interesting indeed. I am a heavy advocate of better handling over more power. That's why I did my suspension upgrades first before my s/c mods. One thing I currently have at the moment is the rear end feels like it wants to swing out mid corner if I plant it too much at the apex. Do you find that with these changes now, the rear now wants to stick to the road more giving you better drive from the corners when pushing hard?

That is EXACTLY what I was trying to fix, and the rear end movement is all but gone... With the low down torque my car has it was always wanting to spit the rear end out if I get on the gas out of corners, now she sits firm and when the back does go it is very predictable, I can really feel it starting to go rather then a sudden "twitch" before she shoots out...

Very interesting to hear Cam. This could be the answer to the problems I have been having. Often I would learn to drive around the problem and feather the throttle, but notice my speed dropped because of it and hence the purpose of handling was lost. Even thought the car is still live rear, I do believe I could get the car handling as swiftly as a stock wrx, maybe not to the same degree, but close....lol. Comes down to driving ability a lot.

With regards to your posts on the AU rear arms.

Is it correct that the AU Forte/Futura etc upper rear arms *are* different to the XR ones or did they simply use the different hole on XRs? Would be good to confirm.

As far as I know, all AU upper rear arms have the kink in them and look fairly similar. Some info on the Nolethane website is not entirely accurate either.

The XR arms are different, and they just use the other hole on a Forte/Future/fairmont etc..

Cheers Cam. Understood now.

I never had any vibration problems in my previous AUs, but ever since lowering the current one (with lows and super lows), have noticed a slight vibration.

Will do a hole swap, but if the bushes in the arms are shagged, might be worth getting the XR arms.

You cant just swap holes.
The std arm goes in the front hole, the XR arms go in the rear hole.
Std arm in the rear hole points the nose of the diff down too far.
XR arm in the front hole points the nose of the diff up too far.
