Awesome road trip report mate.
I'd love to do something like that one day.

Fantastic looking GT-P too. I love that colour. I'd never seen one in that colour Blue before until I saw your photos. I guess I might be biased though coz I love blue.

I bet it was great having all that supercharged V8 power.
Glad you had a great trip and thank you for sharing it with us.

Epic trip, but I'd be watching the fatigue if i were you. I noticed a few things like concentrating on aches and pains and so-on...pretty much signs that you should be pulling up and sleeping for the night. They hammer fatigue out here and the signs of it.
One of the biggest is that they say you know when you are "tired" but you won't know when you're "fatigued" which is much more dangerous. I know a few guys who have come to grief reading those "iron butt" motorcycle tales of guys riding 1600 miles in a 24 hour period.

Great trip and great pics...interesting fuel prices too...

Fantastic write up mate. It brings back memories of doing Melbourne to 3 ways, then across to the Daintree and back down to Melbourne via the coast way back in 2002. It is a trip that I would love to do again. The only decent road trip that I have done in the GT-P was up to Brisbane this year for the GT Nationals. It is a testiment of just how good these cars are for long distance touring. Longest day was 16 hours in the car and didn't get out with any aches or pains (got to love GT-P front seats ) The other great thing of the modern day GT's is the fuel usage, I averaged 11.3 L/100 overall for the trip.
