Yes, sadly a Holden did win and it seems to be all over Facebook now. Not sure if it's been officially announced yet.

That sucks. I only just seen this, but I would have voted for the Capri because its the only one with "right" size wheels IMO
I might be stubborn but Still havnt taken to the modern wheels on old cars.

it's funny how only 10-15 short years ago having a set of 17's would get u some action from the ladies when u go out on a cruise, now u need at least 22's. guess size does matter yeah it was a Holden, there was no chance anything else would win. can't have a Holden not win 2 years in a row |

the good old days of cruisin' down to Manly/Bondi etc when it was a 302W you'd get 10-15 girls come up want to go for a drive. feel the rumbling V8, now, you're lucky to get 4 or 5, but, the bad thing is it's the same old chicks from 10 years earlier and most are from out our way (Blacktown) |

Given that it's the readers who vote, maybe you should ask them. |

I'm a reader of Street Machine and voted. If you ask me I can tell you that I voted for a regularly driven street car, and not a show car that MAY one day hit the street...

I lean more towards the street stuff myself, but we hear the same complaints every year from people who reckon the cars that win SMOTY aren't "street machines". Yet, every year they seem to keep voting in car's like Fitzy's FC or Angela's Dow's hatchback. |

sad to see that the capri didn't win! not to take anything away from Fitzy's FC as it is a nice car, but the capri is what should have won it! Thats my 2cents anyway! But Congrats to Fitzy anyway.

i think alot of people don't believe they are street driven till they see it themselves with their own eyes, most think it's made up when they see it in magazines. we have heaps of people come up at the track when we are putting the street tyres on or as we are driving home, they say you actually really drive this thing to and from the track. they thought it was just made up we took the car down to Harry's a month back, it was ****in' down rain, thunderin' people were freakin' out. they couldn't believe we drove her in that weather, we just looked at each other and cracked up. after the 3rd or 4th person we thought they must be serious i get abused by Joe and mates all the time for wasting my money and building a drag car, they don't see the point of having a car and spending so much money and not being able to enjoy driving it on the street Joe keeps saying so i sell it and we build a nice 7-sec street driven fully legal modular motored car |
