Today, I pick up the keys for our first home. A truly momentous occasion, one which my long suffering wife has been extremely deserved of for many years.
Happy days ahead for the MNM's (if you discount the packing and moving) and for the first time ever, I will be paying for our home instead of someone else's! That said, how bizzare is it buying a half million dollar home and needing to do some fixing up around the place! lol

Congrats! And now the real fun begins with fixing things up, changing things, renos, etc.
We're currently in the process of finishing off the kitchen renovation ourselves. Then there is still the pantry to do, the laundry, the walk in robe in the main bedroom, then the BIR in the bedrooms, then the roof, then the front garden, then ripping up the concrete paths around the house and paving them, then the pergola, ... I think you get the idea Just watch that list of things to do get larger and larger!

Congrats mate, if you were in Sydney you could only buy a fixer upper for that coin or not even a block of land with a tent on it in some areas. You probably have a fair bit to go but a better day is the day you make the last payment but for now you can feel proud you have acieved more than some in a lifetime.

Congrats mate, best investment you could make. There is not much that will beat the day you get your first set of your own keys to your own property, except that day you finally pay it out! Now all the fun begins!
