I never poke fun at any recall on any make of car.
I'm just glad I live in a country with a system that means manufacturers are legally obliged to admit they've made a stuff up and recall and fix the vehicles for free, sometimes years later and well out of warrantee...they could just as easily do what they all did in the bad old days and ignore the lemons, letting owners deal with it at thier own expense. Ford will, inevitably, have another recall in the future. People who live in glass houses, and all that... |

About 4 or 5 years ago, Toyota had a massive recall on Hiluxes for the drag link. These Hiluxes dated back to the early 90's. So spot on with this comment. Sad fact of car manufacturers these days. They mass produce so many of them, there is bound to be some issue down the track. Don't care what manufacturer it is, it is going to happen. Just be thankful the majority of the recall items DON"T come out of your pocket for the repairs.

And cars being merely a mechanical device made of tens of thousands of parts, you have to kind of expect there to be the occasional flub during production...sometimes things that don't show up for many years.
Nothing is perfect. |
