just in case anyone sees it at a wild chance ,its a 7 x 4 trailer 2000 .
stolen from under my house while in melbourne with my granddaughter for her 1st christmas ....! outstanding things to watch for is that i made the trailer cage myself . . all 3 back sides individually can stay or be removed .corner posts extend about 3 inchs above cage with those fencepost caps , 1 being missing on back corner .corner posts are 2 inch box .spare wheel mounted vertically on driver side on front of cage . two crease dints in tailgate , rego sticker on rear right of tailgate .the bolts that hold sides and back on are bolts with handles welded on , with resesed nuts for no tool dissassembly . rego cm0025 no chance of return i know its probably been ground down and deplated by now , but ff is a big world so i will throw it out there . thanks in advance .pm if you see it reward paid ...( pity insurance wont the p.......s ) oh and was taken from port curtis sunday - monday .( rocky )

Sorry about your loss.
To all reading this. there is only one way to garrantee your proof of ownership of any trailer....somewhere preferably discrete weld YOUR drivers licence number onto said trailer. I know of 2 times now (once was mine) where trailer stolen, seen elsewhere followed to its 'new' home and then police advised, provided you have already reported it stolen. Invarably the number plate will be changed. Police will check where welded number should be. This happened to my car trailer, 18 months later I spied it and did the above. No sign of welding but cops smelt something so it was escorted away duly xrayed at police barracks or somewhere and the results showed some nice sod had ground the number off but the old welding heat showed up on xray . Bingo trailer returned

Yer its not a good system , I bought another trailer yesterday ...a second hand 6x4 with no numbers , I called main roads first , I don't even have to take it in , just a self evaluate, buy a vin , pay for plate and bingo ....new trailer .after finding how easy that was no wonder people steal em , all up about 80 bucks to do all the rego / vin / plate .
Much cheaper than buying 1 ...still angry !

sorry to hear that , trailers seem popular to go in this neck of the woods, plenty of light fingered buggers around :(, i had a tipping and extendable trailer which i left it chained to a tree out front, big chain, big padlock, big tree, they still managed to cut the chain during the night, it was some years ago now.
i welded my licence number to the underneath of the draw bar , i might come across it one day, sorry to say i don`t think you`ll see yours again, but well keep our eyes open for you. |

even caravans are a pretty lax affair in victoria, if i remember correctly there`s no serial no. on mine, just a rego label and no. plate, no rwc needed to register one of these either, as you say it`s just too easy.
