Does anyone here with an LW focus hatchback have stuck-on strips, about 160x15mm, between the front of the rear wheel arch and the back door?
Just curious, because mine has them and I was wondering if was a dodgy repair job from the factory or they all have them. |

I think you're talking about the same strips as the ones on new-ish Fiestas - they're rectangular and on both sides of the car, correct?
The general consensus is that they are there to protect the car (the Fiesta ones, that is) from stone chips, as it's common for stones to be kicked up into that area. I would imagine yours are for the same purpose, but load up a pic if anyone else doesn't respond in the meantime, so I can see if they are, indeed, the same kind of strips.

Yep, it looks the same. Have a look at this Fiesta link. I'm sure you've got the same thing and presumably for the same reason - though more of a proactive prevention, perhaps.

My son's new WRX has it on all the doors and the sills (from memory) designed to offer some protection from stone chips and opening doors onto walls etc .... it's pretty common on late model cars
