Default radio in fiesta

Hi guys,

I have had a fiesta for about 6 weeks now. I have noticed right from the beginning that the radio gets louder as you accelerate. I thought it was my ears playing tricks but someone else noticed it also.

I have looked through the manual but it doesnt say anything about it being a 'feature' of the radio.

Just wanting to know if this is supposed to happen? Thanks!!

Hi Fast1

Yes, it's a feature of the stereo called AVC - Automatic Volume Control. See pages 81 and 82 of your manual for more info.

Personally, I set turn mine off because I find it annoying.

I second that. Its an annoying feature if you have your volume set at an optimum setting for balance of sound and distortion. It will turn the volume up automatically and then cause it to distort. Mine has also been turned off.

The other thing with the sterio is the Distortion reduction (CLIP). I found it turns the stereo down if you turn it up too high, however it turns it down too much and too quickly, so Off I turned that as well. Good luck!
