Hey guys, got a question... would like to know those with the LW Focus, when you open your doors.. will the door side light at the bottom (red color) light up? Mine doesn't seem to light up and I'm wondering if there's a switch or instance when it will light up automatically (or I'm just plain dumb)?

Doesn't light up. I think it's just a reflector. Behind it is a screw to remove the inner door skin. = )
...or I could just be dumb too |

.. probably you're right, I didn't look at it in detail so just assume it was lights that were not illuminating. Oh well, at least it's not something wrong.. cheers mate!

Oh wow, I thought it was actually a door light, rather than a reflector. Either way, it's still a good feature.
What lights stay on in the cabin whilst the car is being driven? |

Got LED's in the door handle, door pockets, up top in the dome near the sunglasses holder. LED also in the cup holders. I think that's about it. Then there's the disco worth of lights on the dash steering wheel and centre console
Love it! |

Very nice! I'm assuming those LED's stay on inside the car when you turn it on/drive? I think there may be some in the driver and passenger footwell aswell, right?
These look great in pics, so they'll look even better in person! |

The ones I described do stay on when you drive. There's a option in the menu to have them on or off. It was off when I first picked the car up, but as soon as it got dark on the first day I was scrambling to find out how to turn them on. They won't be turned off again

This is a shot I took of my FW with a Cannon 600D w/o a tripod. Sorry for the blurred pic. http://www.flickr.com/photos/foconatic/6880221243/ Last edited by Foconatic; 19-02-2012 at 05:49 PM. Reason: Add comment |

And just in case its still not clear its called "ambient lighting" and its standard on the Sport and Titanium. Its switched off/on from the drivers menu under Vehicle -> Lighting -> Ambient Lighting.
Under the night/dark conditions it will make the cabin glow a romantic red colour which is meant to relax the eyes when driving at night. |

Ford should have gone full hog and had the 'ambient' lighting on the rear doors
as well. |

jonohoang don't get started on what we miss. The Euro/US models get so much funky stuff with all the Ford Sync etc.. to change the colour of ambient lights would have been ace
