Count yourself lucky. On the central queensland coast, its 88 cents a litre. Has nothing to do with the government, has everything to do with the cold european winter and the fact that the russians are not letting the europeans have any gas. Like all commodities, the owners (even if its drilled in australian waters) are free to seek the highest bidders. It doesnt even have to mean that more australian gas is going overseas, once the price rises somewhere in the world, it then becomes the benchmark. |

It's also because last week either Today tonight or ACA did an article on the shop-a-docket racket that Coles/Woolies have had going for years.....
It's now proven that they bump up the prices in the supermarkets and give you the docket when you spend more than $30, then they give you a discount on their fuel which has already been bumped up also..... The whole thing is a big scam....And it's been around for about five years already. So now they are gouging the lpg users because they've had to put petrol back to proper normal pricers..... Unbelievable! |

We are getting ripped off here in Vic. ULP has been around 131.1 cents all week. It has not dropped under this mark, it should be lower around 120.0, but it will shot up sooner than later.

LPG up to $0.88 cpl around Australia, how come we are selling it to Japan and China for $0.09 cpl? Nine cents per liter!!! That really sucks!!! So, when you take away shipping costs, those countries are getting our LPG for around 4 cents per liter! Please do not tell me it is because they are buying in bulk. Blame little Johnnie for tying the price of LPG to the price of petrol. Our LPG should be around 18 cents per liter...

Little Johnny
I dont think so he ruined house prices for two generations of house buyers with the interest rates back in the eighties of 22% and then the $15k first home owners grant all that did was add $15k to the price spiral but back to LPG back in 1982 I paid 35 cents per litre for petrol and by 1987 it was 55 cents and LPG was 19 cents and that was under Bob Hawke so following inflation in 25 years LPG is cheaper @ 79.9 than petrol it would be nowhere near 18.9 Its just when they jump it up 20 cents in one year you feel it just another fact from 1978 Malcolm Fraser tied fuel prices to the UK price and guess what our super went from 15 cent pl to 28 cents if you want to go back a bit further to 1974Gough Whitlam wanted to add 2 thats two cents a gallon (thats one half of one cent) and we would not have to pay rego and was shot down in flames just my recolections John |

Its not always going to work out the best for the host country, but you get much more resource royalties from a well that is producing gas, than a well that cant go ahead due to lack of funds. |

i just don't buy it. we have all supermarkets in our area, and overall, it is still cheaper to shop at woolies than at iga/foodland etc. for the record, i don't use dockets either. bp ultimate all the way. as for lpg prices going up, not sure if its still the same but lpg used to operate on a monthly cycle rather than weekly which is why the ups and downs seem much more dramatic. there is still a reasonable gap to petrol though so i wouldn't be trading the lpg car in just yet! |

A B.P at Roseworthy (10 k out of Gawler) had it at 82.9 Saturday arvo. Still doesn't compute why Lincoln and Whyalla are cheaper

But imporantly from gas to LNG it reduces in volume by 600 times which makes it viable to transport, and yes they use the boil off gas as fuel but newer bigger ships are deisel fueled as its worth more to re-liquify the boil off gas. I'm at work, bored, at an LNG plant..........

High gas yeah well
it depends on your car I guess Now mine is an AU Fairmont with factory fitted dual fuel Ive had it since 2003 it cost me $15k back then as a 5 year old car I run on LPG all the time and never and I mean never turn off the aircon I think that paying less than half price for my fuel it has well and truely paid for itself I cant complain but 79 cents looks bad to any one filling up thats me thanks John |

lpg might look extra good if hostilities get nasty over sea`s and petrol here sky rockets,
watching the world news, Iran has stopped selling oil to Britain and France, they where showing petrol prices going up in the US and Britain, i would imagine it will hit us down the track too. |

Yesterday fuel in Victoria was around 131.9 cents. Went out last night. Fuel was at 157.3.
How can it jump just under 26 cents in a matter of hours. |
