Default 1999 festiva trio- brakes stuck?!

My little brothers 1.3L festiva has developed a jammed rear brake problem. at low speeds, when pressing the brakes it locks violatley ! I assume it has something to do with the handbrakes?!

Any tips would be appriciated.

Probably time to change the rear cylinders, clean up the remaining components and change the oil.

pulled d/s/r brakes apart and the shoe lining fell off as i pulled the drum off !!!!

nothing left on the linings. The lose brake material must have been jamming up the brakes.

off to supercheap tomorrow to get some new shoes.
