I would love to know what price those 3 people paid for the Epica in Feb. Surely it must have been at least $5K+ off the rrp. Otherwise, how could you go past all the other dealerships, drive its competitors and say "Nope, the Epica is the best. Here's my money." ?

Brings about the hyperthetical question: if you were in the market for a mid-sized car - how much would you pay for a brand new Epica?
a. RRP b. $10K off RRP c. You would have to pay me a big retainer forever more to take the Daewoo-thing off Holden's hands. See, much like others on here and the Australian public in general, Holden's problem is that 99% of people would tick c. Hence why its dead. Last edited by Fiesta_Man69; 08-03-2012 at 02:34 PM. I CAN STICK MY FINGERS INSIDE THE GAPS near the stereo and steering wheel. i kid you not... ice PS: its also a diesel and sounds like a soviet union tractor. the auto has the intelligence and pace of a field of cabbage. |

Epi what?
Nah It was always on the cards that the Epica was getting axed. It's called the Tosca overseas and that particular model variant finished at the end of last year and it's been replaced by the new model Malibu which is being released here in 2012. They'll probably offer petrol & diesel versions but it will be auto only. It is odd why they need a car to fit in between the Cruze and the Commodore though. One of the few unique things about the Epica was that it had a straight 6 engine (transversely mounted of course). Straight 6 isn't that common in a FWD as many of you know. |

Here's a priceless quote: GM Daewoo's official press releases says that Tosca is an acronym for "Tomorrow Standard Car"............. Refer: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daewoo_Tosca

Holden had the offers for each Epica, the cheapest at 22K driveaway for CDX when it was selling for 26-27K RRP.

Eco model has 140Kw 2.4 litre I-4 with DI and passive hybrid (regen braking /launch assist) will give around 5.5-6.0 l/100 km and sells for less than Hybrid Camry in the US.. By comparison new, Fusion (Mondeo) with 1.6 Ecoboost and stop/start tech gives slightly better fuel economy and costs way less than Malibu Eco...(perfect replacement for our 2.3 I-4 Mondeo base engine) |
