I know I am going against all the rules on the Ford Forums by rebading a car, but I prefer to have my badges there.
Issue - On my XR50 badge on the boot, the very right part of the badge where it's imitating a chequered flag, the very right small peice of the flag was hanging to the other peice of the flag and not to the car. Since removed and put in safe spot. Now I would like to reapply it onto the car in the right spot. I have been told to use double sided tape but do not know what type I should be using, other suggestions would be great. Im hoping someone has had this dilemma before and can give me some feedback. Thanks!

Not sure what's wrong with using double sided tape? I used 3M double sided on various car badges over the years and they always held up alright. Once they settle in the sun and check on them every now and then it should be fine

If you call into a panel beater somewhere and ask nicely I think they'd snip you off a bit of what they use, which incidently is double sided tape, but at least you'll know it's of commercial quality, rather than something you've got from Big W

The 3M stuff that bunnings sell is good.. you need to get the super strong stuff though to make sure its going to stay!
They usually have it with all the woodwork / cabnetry stuff. Good luck.

Off top of your head can you remember any brands I should go with? And which ones to stay away from? There have been times where I have mismatched. Cheers

sikaflex is good stuff for badges and trims on the outside of a car. So something else worth considering

3M is definately the way to go, I'd go as far to say its the best ive encountered, as far as sikalfex goes it can be messy but it does work well (i havent tried it on a car but its hold tiles and bricks well) but it is a little but expensive.

3m also have a product that is like a "press tape" Its dbl sideded tape that conforms to the shape of the badge, saves all the tricky trimming.

Yeah, if going for 3M, make sure it's the automotive outdoor waterproof branded version. Heaps of it on eBay. I couldn't find it anywhere else. I looked at SUpercheap, Bunnings, even Officeworks. All had some form of cheap knock off double sided tape of one form or another. Officeworks had 3M but mostly indoors use. I had to get the aoutomtive waterproof stuff off eBay.
