I would rather ford "Fight back" with....
Better advertising. Cars people want to own. Better customer service. More technology. Hyundai "Like" transformation in styling stakes. Longer warranty. |

Just one of the reasons why I'm still driving my XG.
The bench is nice & comfy, and good for a snooze on a trip (I'm only 5'2"...) The ute also benefits from a proper diff & rear suspension, none of this rattling, wear out type IRS, and has proper leaf springs for carrying stuff.. But I may swap it for a new 2012 'charged GS ute if the opportunity arises.. Ed

That is profound oh wise one! lol It seems to me it would not take as much as you think to turn a 5 seater into a 5 seater.

What it needs is a decent seat in the middle and more legroom. Every taxi would kill for it too Soon as the Falcon dies they will import the F150 and finally i will have what i always wanted Last edited by RASER; 20-04-2012 at 11:19 PM. |

i think maybe they should just make a bench seat optional for sedan at an extra cost. those few that would want it would help falcon sales slighty. how many sedans are 6 seaters nowdays??

If they did ever reintroduce a bench seat for a sedan, where would they anchor the sash part of the seat belt...
Make it go all the way to the back window?

When the Falcon's gone and we are all driving Velosters, perhaps an Aussie company can build a new medium RWD sedan, wagon and ute with nice bench seats (buckets optional) - I mean, the market has fragmented so much, why is this one niche the one that all-knowing members of AFF dictate is the niche no one can have? |

If you have a need to have 4 children and your missus and yourself seated in the vehicle plus enough luggage for a holiday the territory doesn't cut it. Not enough cargo space bring back the 6 seater wagon.

And you said it in your answer, the market is so fragmented these days because people want different things and the people who would have once made up the numbers for particular variants now buy SUVs or 4x4-4x4 Pick ups |

Hi. The seat anchor can be made strong enough but the seat may need to have a fixed back. Do you tell the driver or passenger that their seat doesn't recline any more as you wouldn't put it in the narrow middle seat back so that you can fold it down to use as an arm-rest. Cheers MD

I think the most stupid thing Ford did was killing off the Fairlane [not farm] LTD and Wagon, oh, and not fitting a diesel to the Falcon was stupid too, could have had all the large sedan market to itself.....what u waiting for Ford??? |
