make sure your not sitting in the middle of the water when you do your burn out get some one to guide you to the edge of the water .because it builds up under your guards then drips down onto the start line.also work out a routine and stick to it .good luck

When we were playing with relatively slow cars as teenagers we used to drop the fan belt off before the run and push it up to the line. Do the pass then put it back on on the return road. This was only in Geminis and escorts that ran 15 and 16 sec times but usually dropped a few tenths. Air cleaner off? Back seats out? Tyre pressures? Slicks would help but there are plenty of cars running consistant quicker times on normal street tyres. I used to run reasonably consistant low 12's with 195 street tyres in a turbo rotary escort (don't laugh it was a lot of fun)
