make sure your not sitting in the middle of the water when you do your burn out get some one to guide you to the edge of the water .because it builds up under your guards then drips down onto the start line.also work out a routine and stick to it .good luck

i cant hold stall over 2000rpm on line without breaking was thinking of transbrake though may not suit my combo currently redline over finish line, set tis what is just chasing 2 tenths maybee caltracs?carb is big i know also have 150 n20 shot not ran.all ideas welcom.
You cant avoid it your cams to small, I did a similar motor for a mates XB 4 door had a crow (21823) 249/258 @ 50 109 lc around 620 lift 850 carb active manifold small converter about 3000 rpm ( could only hold just over 2000 on the line) it ran 12.6 107mph, I think you should do a cam change even with your small stall conveter you will pick up a few tenths,

If that 3 degrees is your base or initial timing, there is your problem. Seems very low.

I'm surprised no one picked this up

When we were playing with relatively slow cars as teenagers we used to drop the fan belt off before the run and push it up to the line. Do the pass then put it back on on the return road. This was only in Geminis and escorts that ran 15 and 16 sec times but usually dropped a few tenths. Air cleaner off? Back seats out? Tyre pressures? Slicks would help but there are plenty of cars running consistant quicker times on normal street tyres. I used to run reasonably consistant low 12's with 195 street tyres in a turbo rotary escort (don't laugh it was a lot of fun)
