After finally finishing paying maint for the last 18yrs I'm sorry to do it to ya mate but no there's not a lot you can now do. Yes there was once upon a time where you could salary sacrifice into super or a motor vehicle but not any more. My best advice to you mate is to try and remain civil to the ex, she did love you once and try to get into a private arrangement. I did this with mine and went from $400 p/week to $200.
Don't underestimate your income cause there's only so long you can do it before you will owe arrears, as for the trust fund, that's something you will have to work out with the ex mate...... Best of luck

In the CSA rule book it says " Your Capacity to earn "
I pay a fair chunk to them each week and I see my kids every 2nd weekend and 1/2 school holidays , I pay all school fees and after school programs , I have asked time and time again for me to pay into a trust account but they tell me how the mother spends the money its up to her

After getting off the CSA merry go round last year after 17 years, keep every letter that is sent to you. My daughter was told for years I wasn't paying child support. When she came to live with me I showed her all the CSA paperwork & my payslips, she was stunned to learn I was telling the truth. My ex was using a different name & address to claim & when I told CSA, they were only worried about my details being correct.

Yes that rule came in two years ago as I was only paying on my gross after my lease car which saved me about 5 k a year , best and about the only way out is to open a company and get your pay put in that , then draw a small wage off the company as an employee .. but I'm a grandpa now so that killed my maintainence ...at least now I can afford to visit as csa don't really care or die as long as they get their money ...this is even when I had good relationship with ex ...its a long road , pity the kids don't benefit from any of the money ( mostly)
