Don't flame me if this question is too newbie or in the wrong spot. For the first time I am looking to fit a non factory set of alloys to a new car. This is a big step but I'm nearly 40 so it's about time.
In my case I am buying a 2012 Focus Sport Hatch in white. I like these wheels http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/SET-4-ADV...#ht_3237wt_908 2 questions: Will they fit the factory 17" tyres? Will they look awesome? |

Answer, no they wont fit. The problem is the stud pattern. Those have a pattern of 4x100. The focus uses a stud pattern of 5x108, similar to jaguar and volvo. Considering its not a common stud pattern, wheels are harder to find and it can be very limited.
Your best off looking at tyre websites that allow you to select your vehicle, then it suggests which wheels will fit your car. I just ordered up a set of o.z racing wheels for a good price, some will say they are to expensive but still cheaper than most places quoted me. Do a search for 5x108 17" wheels on google and ebay. |

Hi Osmars,
I'm answering on the basis of a bit of research (Google is your friend ) and this seems to suggest that they will not fit because the stud holes are on too small a circle 100 mm. I think the Focus has a stud circle which is 108 mm (but someone with more knowlege may correct this) Also the offset is different to the norm for 17" wheels. This is how far the flat mounting face of the wheel is away from the line that runs through the centre of the rim when looking at a cross section. I believe this is +49 mm for the focus with 17" dia wheels and what you propose is +40 mm. This will push the wheel further away from the hub and it might provide trouble with suspension movement causing the tyre to contact the bodywork - then again it might not. But if this research is provides accurate figures then it will cause the track width of the car to widen by 18 mm. Probably not going to be a problem but it does upset the suspension geometry. Go here: http://www.focusfanatics.com/forum/s...ead.php?t=2278 if you want some drawings about offset. As to whether or not they would "look good", if they look good to you then fine, but I think they are not going to fit the car. Cheers

There are wheels out there that will fit. I found a set of Italian wheels (MAK) to fit my Mondeo and they weren't very expensive.
