95 Statesman 5L V8 vs an AU2 XR8
Statesman is 165kw, au was 200kw who would win? My mate says his statesman completly slaughtered the AU, is this possible?

Street racing is illegal. (My money is on the AU by about 6-8 carlenghts though)

my AU1 XR6 destroyed a VS clubsport 195.. somehow I doubt a stock Stato would be any trouble for an AU2 XR8

It comes down to the driver as well. On paper the XR8 has more power and lighter and has been tested with a quicker 1/4.
But if the stato gets the jump on him car and bit length its all over the XR8 probably wont have the power to reel him in before 1/4 distance so therefore the stato wins. Its simple. They both take off at the same time and the stato will get munched.

I have also had the jump on an XR8.. it reeled me in just after 1/2 track. The AU XR8 could give the stato almost a second head start and still win on a 1/4 run.

You probably had more power then the clubsport....on the other hand your probably right over the 1/4 the XR8 would reel it in, but I doubt they were racing down the quarter. If you want, I can give you a headstart anytime and you can watch me reel you in. :hihi:

No worries Casper, it was upsetting seeing a six in front of me after all the work I put into the EL with all the mods Im sure if I got a Unichip or even took it down to the WSID after I put the rockers, underdrives and factory air box in I wouldve been in the 14s. But never mind, the future is bright with the BOSS and dont worry I never underestimate 6s. ;)

Maybe this occurred on a public road and the AU driver had the maturity NOT to race.

Interesting thread, i presume the AU would win, but i have come across a fast stato once (vq i think?) and i only just beat that....i guess it depends if your stock vs stock....not many stock statos of that age out there anymore you would think? They are all now a cheapish price for hoons to grab and dress up these days. My mates oldies have a vct au xr6 with only 50k on the clock, its been babied and is for sale if your in WA. But that thing flies, we took it for a hammer once (without his olds in the car!), and they do go the old AU's.

My EL XR8 smashed a VS Stato a few months ago, and it only has the 170 kw motor, so an AU XR8 would demolish it. Was the Stato stock or modified?
