Hi guys
I have an au2 wagon and want to do a manual conversion. I understand the e series boxes don't fit. Are the series 1 and series 2/3 boxes the same? Which bits from an series 1 will or won't fit properly. Also do the b series boxes fit? Thanks for any help. |

Yes the e series will bolt up and fit however as you have read the shifter location does not work on an au. Are you trying to convert series 1 or 2/3 wagon? The main differences you'll need yo watch are the difference between ECU's and the pedal box. A series 1 pedal box has to bolt holes as the brake booster is only bolted up with 2 studs
A series 2/3 has 4 bolts. I found this out when using a series 1 on my series 3 wagon. I simply drilled the required holes. Not ideal but still worked. Otherwise everything will bolt up no problems. The wiring for cutting the cruise control when the clutch is pushed I am not sure if that is different. Otherwise that is all I can think of at the moment. There will be some other useful info also in my build thread as I have already done this conversion.

Thanks bartsau. Got a series 2 wagon. So best off getting series 2/3 pedal box and ecu obviously but rest from a series 1 would work?

I believe the tail shaft length differs too from sedan to wagon/ute.

i done the conversion on my wagon i used the original auto tailshaft which worked but had very minimal movement so would suggest getting it shortened 10-20 mm im interested in the e series boxs being used in an au and a pic of where the gear stick sits?
