Hey everyone
I have a au 1 wagon. Looking to improve the brakes, don't have the money to upgrade to au11 front so I'll be sticking to new disks and pads front and back. What do you guys recons best? Not really looking to spend over 400. These are a few a found on eBay let me know what you think and if I should stay away from any. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/160756727...#ht_2123wt_689 http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/160841835...#ht_1312wt_922 With some good pads, ideas? Thanks everyone |

A wrecker (or forums member) should be able to provide you with some S2-3 front calipers and sway bar for $100 or so. The RDA or DBA slotted discs with QFM pads will take the other $300. A few bolts for the top sway bar mount hole (needs to be drilled), a few bottles of brake fluid and an afternoon's work with your mates should have it all sorted. I had this upgrade done on my S1 wagon and it was well worth it. Here's one of the threads that describes the process in detail. http://www.fordforums.com.au/showthr...+brake+upgrade GK

Nope, all you need is:
Uprights Calipers and brackets Disks Sway bar and mounts Brake lines. That's the basics anyway. Other things you can buy bit by bit. A while ago I got 300mm slotted rotors, calipers, brackets and pads all brand new delivered for $450. The calipers will suit a upgrade to 330 with a change of bracket aswell. Pretty sure I've got a series 2 sway bar and brackets and a set of uprights in the shed but I depends where you are for the cost of shipping.

Where abouts do you get your pads and disk from, I've checked out all the brands you said and it might most be 459 alone for disks and pads.
Also if it's just sway bar could I use an aftermarket one? I was planning later on putting one on to make it a bit more stable once I lower it? Thanks heaps. |

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/FORD-FALC...item416673c955 yeah you can use an aftermarket bar, but you'd still need to source the brackets and links. as for uprights you can use anything from au2 right through to bf2. I'm in newcastle nsw so you'd probably get the parts localyfor cheaper than the freight would be. this should help aswell. http://www.fordforums.com.au/showthread.php?t=11263967

you do need lower control arms but not upper as the swaybars bolt up different in S1 & S2. When i did mine i put new bush's & balljoints through the lower control arms before i put them on, saves doing them later.
