I presume the gearbox internal bearings are OK (no howling)
What state is the gearbox mount in ? Oily and soft, or just broken? Could be seeing the resonance coming thru the gearstick because the geabox itself is floppin around a bit. (like front wheel imbalance/alignment at 80kmh on a Capri) Could also be worth checking the front uni joint, again - transferred vibration.... |

Rose joint quickshift will vibrate in that rpm range - lads in the mother country have a solution using the original 4 speed gearstick
details here - http://bbs.rallyesportescorts.co.uk/...ad.php?t=36509 |

I like the mod, i have been reading about the quickhift vibration issues, I will need to look at some one of isolation of stick from box, IE no metal to metal.
Thanks

Double check your have bolts in all the holes between the gearbox/bellhousing and motor and they are tight. Also include the bracket that goes from the side of the block (D/Side) to the bottom of the bellhousing.
Mine did the same thing - I had to take the motor out and sorted out a few of these details things when it went back in - hey presto the vibrations are gone |

It's not really a vibration, rather a rattle/chatter, it appears to effect most with quaife quick shift, the fix being to isolate someway the trunion bearing from the gear stick (rubber bush, fibre washers etc etc) the std stick and the 4 speed all have a rubber isolator at the bottom of the stick and a nylon trunion bearing, hence no noise from hem.
