Good morning
You will probably notice a new button on each post that says THANKS - this allows you to thank a post and replaces the previous (and useless) thumbs up button that could be reversed by someone else clicking on it. In order to avoid a repeat of the rep system issues we have not added the statistical view to the user control panel or to the postbit template so it doesn't say "thanked x times in x posts" like the standard version does. Cheers Russ

Will everyone be able to see who added the thanks or only the person adding it?
Cheers Col EDIT: Question has been answered.

Everyone should be able to see the who added thanks in a box under the thanked post.
Cheers Russ

Instead of a seperate box, could the thanks be intergreated into the post header...would be less cluttered...

But i do agree, the box at the bottom takes up a fair bit of space. Not sure how configurable the admin interface is for it, but can you perhaps just change the Text so instead of being: "The following 14 users say Thank You to russellw for this post: " make it. "X Users Like this Post" or similar. It may mean it'll only take up a single line, rather then 3 as it currently does.

About this "thanks" button, there's a bit of disconnect between "thanks" and "liking the post". For instance, I might want to thank the op for the information in their post, but I might not necessarily like it
Sounds a bit **** I know, but I've thought about it a few times when going for the thanks button! A great feature none the less.

have we ever considered a thumbs down button? Even as a trial
It may sound like a recipe for tears before bedtime, but maybe it could negate the need for people to go off topic bickering or getting into debates as they would have a small avenue through which to express that they don't like a post, without having to make their own post in response |

We used to have one but it created too much negativity in some areas which is why we went to the present method.
Cheers Russ
