Default Superlows + NL Fairlane + Pedders Std Shocks

Hey all,

A mate of mine has an NL Fairlane Ghia, with Pedders Standard Shocks & Springs all round, with the according 4WD ride height.

Will superlows fit with the long stroke shocks, or will he need to get short stroke shocks? I've done this with my car (LS shocks), but I'm unsure whether it would be exactly the same in a LWB.

It doesn't have SLS, the SLS broke and was replaced by standard shocks.

I'm thinking the superlows will go in fine.

Just need to get a price on a camber kit & superlows installed now.

kinda on the same thread, can you trick sls into working a bit like hyrdraulics and dumping the car on its ***... mines been pulled out.

but as john said, you'll need short stroke shocks too.

Will it NEED short shocks, or can he get away with just SL's on the standard shocks for a while?

You don't need "short stroke shocks." The ride will be better with them, but you don't have to fit them.

I had the standard shocks in for a while with SL and the car kept bumping the tailshaft onto the floor.. I gave up and just put the standard 4*4 springs back in and didnt investigate it further because I gave the car to my oldies

Are the short stroke shocks the ones with the lower spring seat?? If so you might find it a little too low combined with superlows. I can vouch for getting a dedicated set of shortened shocks, ride quality is ten times better. My monroe GT's felt very bouncy with superlows, chucked in the short pedders and most of the time i'd forget i was driving a lowered car (and have bottomed out several times as a result :P)
