The passenger compartment looks very intact for a death. Most unfortunate, but people involved in motorsport know the risks. |

The name of the driver can now be revealed. Adam Plate has been identified as the driver of the Mitsubishi Evo VII tragically killed today at Targa Adelaide.

It's worth it if that is what you love doing...
Better than dying crossing the street or getting stabbed by a junkie or any other number of ways of dying a horrible death. |

hardly made the news here. these days the classic adelaide (or targa adelaide) is a pretty low key event unless you are involved. |

Sadly... your right. Im astounded at the stupidity and disrespect of these people. Apparently they will "lay down" on the road this morning in protest. http://au.news.yahoo.com/video/natio...ently-selfish/ No idea why the link says children under six etc.... but it should play?

If there are calls to close it down, they could always do what the Isle Of Mann TT has been doing for some years now to counter such calls to close the "dangerous" race...
Basically, the Manxmen and thier government raise a collective finger and shout "Get f*$@ed"...and carry on racing... Of course that takes a large set of gonads, and plenty of times in Australia we've seen things closed down for "safety" reasons by weak will in the face of a few protesters... |
