I tend to agree. The morosso slide say's it'll go 10.6 but we all know what has to be done to get there.

Not to mention 128mph, Ill be happy if I get 125-126 which I think is achievable once I get the clutch dramas sorted and slicks maybe

I'm doing a few things in the next few months to try and get the mph up. Just have to wait for some $ first. Extractors will be changed and I'll be sucking air from outside not under the bonnet. Mines already seen a 123mph pass. I'd like to see a few more mph for my money though.

I base it off my car, I have 458hp & 410ftlbs of torque. In my XT Falcon (1630kgs with driver) I have run a best of 11.38 @ 116.96 mph.I run MT street radials 235/60/15, C4, 4k stall, 3.89 gears, full exhaust.I have friends that run anywhere from 10.8-11.5 in street cars & would fall over dead if any of them had more than 550hp.

Is that like a tray under the carb with foam sealing round the scoop, if so its been reccomended to me also, i also did 2 passes at 123.5, my engine builder reckons there might be 1 or 2 more in it just in the weather (it was stinkin hot), well im hoping anyway

From what I've been told you actually have 515hp and 400 and something ftlbs of torque.

Yes, thats is. I'm making one from aluminium and using some thick fire retardant foam to seal it against the bonnet.

I am looking to get some cold air into my heap of shyte also.I either get another bonnet & run a scoop, or I will rig up some sort of ram air arrangement.

With the cam and heads you run it should be a 500hp engine. Smaller cams in 351's with alloy heads have made 550hp and 460ftlbs.

I know of a few 347's in the 500's. Don't know why yours isn't making power?

Funny thing is all these engines allegedly making more power are generally slower. The 351's you mention are clevo's? If so the CHI & AFD heads are miles better heads than my Victor Jnr's.Keep in mind a genuine 550hp & 460ftlbs will see any model Falcon run a high 10. This is where you & I differ, you are hung up on dyno figures, I prefer timeslips.

The only 10sec Falcon's I've seen usually have n2o. Very few are run natural.

Balinor have a look here -> http://www.fordmuscle.com plenty of 347's making better hp than yourself with the same heads you have and less cam. Check out the forums and the dyno section. Most have 1/4 mile times to go with their charts.

Have you looked at the rear gear these blokes run, plus their convertors? I have noticed that the yanks & our definition of a street car is somewhat different.....

yes, oh what I'd give to be able to drive a car modified like that on the street and be able to register it like that.

Blokes from the GT club race their cars, surely you jest.
:
Mate most of the blokes up here from my club are like the Vic. club (Alex & a couple of others excepted), they will talk horsepower & combo's until they are blue in the face.Mention a track day (drag or circuit) & the silence is deafening.

You have to love that when that happens. I like it when they put their name down but pull out everytime. I try and get out there as much as my wallet will allow. My Mrs has a gambling addiction which has slowed me a little. Had to get a $17,500 loan. She gambled on credit cards and was stealing money from my credit cards for years. Hence why I've refinanced my house 3 times in 2 years.

I personally know three blokes that run high 10's without the bottle (two are 378 clevo's, one is a 370 Windsor).

You just have a good setup balinor. My ford weighs 1610kg with me, does mid 12's and would be high 300hp at the fly at the most. Still, i'm confident for a high 11 or flat 12 next time out if i don't change anything in the meantime. (i hope i dont get flamed for the prediction. hehe)
