If Ford is trying to sell a car to my Nanna, then this ad meets that brief.

Perhaps a 'cutting edge' car maker should/could have spent a million bucks (Farnham's fee) more wisely.

Ford has an image problem - the market perceives the cars as old, dated, irrelevant, boring... so they align their new, modern, relevent and exciting features with an old, dated, irrelevent and boring pop star from the 80s/90s. Odd.

Anyone born after '95 (gen iY) wont even know who he is so the song was enough rather than images of him loitering like a creepy hasbeen around the car!

Keep an eye on the Gruen Transfer, I bet they rip this ad to shreads.

You're the Voice is an iconic piece of home-grown Australian music, and should be required listening for all Australians. You don't need to like it, just to know it.

Ford are performing a community service for the nation!

Personally I don't care how old he is, if he's still got the pipes, then he's still The Voice.

Nah.. you missed the point. I was suggesting the 'pressure' of the forced induction V8, when you put your foot 'down'.

So they should use a forgettable, here and gone modern pop-star? One that fades into obscurity when the next fad comes along?

They could have got Psy or whatever his name is with that stupid gangnum style song for that. Will anyone even remember who he is in 12 months time?

How many people born after 1995 have their driver's licence, let alone the money to buy a new Focus? If they wanted to sell brand new cars to teenagers they would plaster crap all over instagram or use adver-games.

I bet some certain South Korean manufacturers do just that, to support their compatriot.
