I'm surprised nobody ever uploaded this to Youtube, but going through some old tapes the other day I came across this good one and decided to upload it.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JXp_gkw48pk The ad is basically everything that's good about Ford put into 60 seconds - mostly focusing on the F-Series and Mustang, but it includes pretty much the whole range (even a 1 second shot of the dull 2003 Taurus sneaks its way in ;) It was shown on Superbowl night 2003, but it's not over the top and ridiculous like all the ads these days seem to be. I like that it has some old classic Fords thrown in as well. If anyone's seen better I'd like to know. I can't think of any. |

That ad didnt grab me. It was only okay.
6.5 outta 10 I think Ford need to push out ads all the time. They just won engine of the year, this reflects on the brand so put an ad out about it. And comment on how the Ecoboost Falcon runs the 2.0L version! |

To me it was nothing out of the ordinary. IMO the best American Ford ad is this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1CGetmOLIMw

Ok I have to correct my original post - the ad didn't actually air during the Superbowl, but it aired Superbowl night, during the movie that followed. It was recorded on an ABC station in South Florida in EP mode (lowest quality), unfortunately. As for being 9 years old, technically it's 9 1/2 as Superbowl was in Feb 2003.
Anyway I seem to have uploaded it using the wrong method so I'm taking down the original. I've uploaded it again but this time with much less mpeg compression: http://youtu.be/6tiE3bRyQN4 Last edited by MrZ; 11-07-2012 at 07:13 PM. |

I was rewatching this ad and I just picked up on a few things...
The guy at 0:29 looks like a pimp! And then a few seconds later (0:32), in the side mirror we see what look like his "girls" ! Also the guy at the very end 0:51 looks like a cricketer or something. He looks more Aussie than American to me anyway. |

I also think it's unusual that they have both the old F-150 (pre-2004) and the new 2004 F-150 in the same ad.

Of course, Randy Newman also sang the song "Short People" in the late 70s.

Got nuthin' on this one...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ig6KZqTo_bA No reason Ford Australia couldn't do that with an old XY GT Falcon and a new GT...although given what we are bent over for with cars here, I doubt dad would just pop out and buy a $70,000+ GT Falcon for his returning son... |
