Question Euro 3 Emission Rules and Performance Mods

Hi All,

Its been a while between posts here.

I'm looking at parking a new XR6T or XR8 in the garage and have been checking out the run out BA2's and the new BF's.

What concerns me is the Euro 3 emission rules that are enforced on the BF and whether that means things like the APS kits and the herrod mods are still 'legal'?
How much does the Euro 3 rules impact things like the APS 1 & 2 (XR6T) and the CAPA superchargers (XR8)?

I'm looking at getting a manual car so the 6 speed auto isn't really in the equation for choosing.

Thanks.

If you were to get an 05 platted car it wouldn't be a problem euro 3 doesn't kick in until next year. Even though Ford complies now it shouldn't hold any restirctions until 06 cars start rolling out.

I would expect that any "Kts" would be illegal as would ANY mods to the engine / Exhaust. That been said, most mods are technically illegal anyways.
Apparently the Ford EDIT has already been done for the BF range, but again this would change the Euro3 settings, so again technically illegal.
The Euro3 laws are designed to keep cars running a certain emmission level and allow them to check and ajust themselves.
