Default Removing double sided tape residue

My AU falcons front door protective strip needs re seating. I have taken off the protectice stripping leaving the door with alot of double sided tape/glue still in place. What can I use to remove this residue without damaging the duco? I thought of eucalyptus oil but am not sure. What would you suggest to remove the tape/glue residue so that the duco is not damaged? Thx.

that'll work OK but there are some good "Goo Removers" out there. Funnily enough one is simply called exactly that ... any supermarket or variety store will sell them cheaper than auto parts places.

I used a hair dryer to soften the glue and help pull the tape stuff off in bigger chunks and then clean up the residue with turps on a rag.

Thanks to all, just finished, used the eucalyptus oil (and elbow grease) and it worked a treat. Just got to replace the doublesided tape and fit the protective strip and not stuff it up LOL.

Depending on how thick it is and I'm being totally serious here, but sometimes it comes off much quicker and easier, just to rub it with your finger tips

Makes your fingers damn sore, but I have found that using chemicals etc on the double sided tape, only tends to smudge it, not actually remove it.
