Good article, and correct. I am under no illusion that I will recoup my initial money outlay. I just love the way the diesel drives with that extra torque, happily pulls up hills in top gear without having to drop it back and rev it's guts out. It's all about the driving experience you desire.

Even when driving hard averages under 5ltrs/100kms. Aver 4.3.
I have brought the Ecoroute Bluetooth device to connect to the OBD2 plug, and watch the fuel economy figures live. Great device and useful for extra gauge readouts. Temp, battery, real speed, etc. Garmin gps way to go.
Yup glad I got the Diesel.. Getting 4.6L/100k with the zetec. Only ever drive it to and from work (13km's each way Brisbane city traffic). Had a WQ 5sp manual before and this one is much more efficient.
