Myself, RAPID_BA and Mont5.0 were there last night as well. I ran a couple of 14.6's, Joe ran a couple of 13.5's in his LS1 and Heath did a couple of 14.9's. was a hot night but not as bad as a few weeks ago. Too many burnouts though, they were still going at 9:45.

Thanks Joolz I was going to pull the motor out of my XA and put my big one in it but I might have to give it another meeting, would love to crack an 11 of some sort before I remove it, I didn't get home till 2am then couldn't sleep thinking about what to do before next time, Dave's XY needs some sorting out as well, Good to see that Joolz rev limiter isn't being wasted

I think I saw first hand what the blue turbo ute could do, almost exact same reaction time, similar 60ft and about half track it started to step away from my ls1 to go 13.0 @115mph. I ran 13.6 @104 that run side by side.
Could you hear me screaming "Monica" (fast n the furious jarule) I realised a little gremlin in my tune, in performance mode it was hitting the limiter before it changed up and losing momentum, I swear it sat on cutout for about half a second to a second in 1st-2nd and then again from 2nd-3rd. Must have robbed a few 10ths. Contacted tuner and he said there is only 100rpm difference between change up and cutout but none of his other customers said anything about it. On Saturday he is going to knock the changeup down another 50rpm and the cutout up 50rpm to create more buffer to avoid next time, also looking to minimise a pause parameter between gear changes as well says it should sort it out. I also ran with 225 tyres, everyone kept saying to me my tyres would never let me run a decent time. Bad news as those tyres will be back next time too!! Hope everyone had some fun last night, I'm thinking about taking my charged 8 out next time. Mont5.0 also has some plans to run Much quicker times in 2013. |

6 tenths and 11 mph isnt that side by side I think the ute and driver went real well for a first time drag racer at 65 years old

He picked it up in third gear only. What does it matter if the guy was 65 years old or 25 years old? |

Not sure why it matters they both had fun not sure rapid cares about winning or lossing I think he was just saying it was a good match up till the ute hit third gear.

The ute definately had a turbo on it and I was paying it a compliment that it was able to get away for the win. Did you see the cooler on the front of it? We talking about the same ute? My car definately had a 13.3 in it. Found a gremlin with my tune being rectified tomorrow at 9am. Was hitting the rev limiter before 1-2 change and again hitting limiter in 2-3 change. Felt like a pause for a good half a second each time which definately hurt momentum. Tuner told me there was only a 100rpm buffer between the two. Its a matter of increasing cutout and slightly decreasing change up point as well as tightening parameters for pause between gears. Anyhow next time tune will be sorted and i might even grab a set of tyres so see you all next time .. There was a Cammed BOSS 290/302 auto running 13.6s all night so my bolt on unopened LS1 did alright. |

[/QUOTE]Might be a different ute the one i'm thinking of has an inter-cooler but I know for sure there's no turbo on it, We all had a great night was worth the 4hr drive each way, and I liked the look of your sleeper LS1, One thing we all have in common is that we have our time-cards and know how our cars run, there not just expensive toys sitting in the garage like all those supposedly 10 second cars that have never seen a track, looking forward to getting down again 2013 some time

Looks good enough for me
As for the standard stroke 12.3, thats one stout performer, shouldn't have to much dramas getting rid of that.
