Which Ford Dealer in Melbourne, do you take your Ford to get serviced? And more importantly, would you recommend them? The reason I've asked is that I've just had a bad experience with one of them and I highly doubt I will be going back there again...Appreciate any feedback...

I would go to herrod in thomastown , as far as I know they can still stamp your books and it shouldn't cause any warranty issues .
Correct me if Iam wrong ?

I took my car to Etheridge Ford in Ringwood for the first time after being recommended to go there.
I was pretty happy with the service that was given and would recommend them. My next service will probably be Strapp Ford to see what they can offer too.

I took my G6E to Knox Ford in Bayswater in December last year. I rang on a Thursday (or was it the Friday?) and got a booking for the following Monday. I arrived late and they still managed the 15k service while I waited. I will definitely be back.

Took the XR8 into City Ford in North Melb a few times. I only go, coz it's close to home. I had some warranty work done, and that seemed fine.
I'm sure there's better out in the burbs. |

Coffey Ford Service in Noble Park. Hugh is the service manager there and is fantastic. They have looked after my two Fords over the last six years and I cannot fault them. Very happy with the service.

Etheridge has given me a good run. I tried them when I moved to Vic four years ago because they were on here. Was very surprised by one service where I forgot to mention a few things when I dropped it off only for them to ring me to tell me they had found those (very slight) things, I asked the name of the bloke working on the car, to be told it was their very thorough apprentice, I now ask for the same guy to work on the cars every time I drop one off there.

Warranty isnt really an issue. Do they use genuine ford parts? Do they follow like the list of things to check/change etc provided by ford at each service interval?

I use Knox ford in Ferntree Gully. Always been good to me, never really had problems.
However, I have not used them since the AHG buyout.

When my car was still under warranty, I had good experiences with Sterling Ford in Bundoora (on Grimshaw St).
Hope that helps! |

I've used both Knox in Ferntree gully and Etheridge, mainly because Andrew was there and looked after me. Dave the service mananger is a star Knox used to allow me to drop the car off in the PM, and pick it up the next PM (night after 830PM). I used to drive from West Footscray to do that.
Now that Binks have opened a service centre on Geelong Road, I use that. They have been good and have been happy to push to get warranty work done. I had my drivers mirror fall off on the Territory, drop up there one day, they said come back the next and they fixed it. Only took about 30 minutes and when I organised the time, they did it for me, pretty handy when I had twin 1 year old boys with me.

Had the car at New Oak Ford for an emergency repair. Have had to return numerous times to have their mistake fixed as a result of one visit.
Good customer service there, just wouldn't let the monkeys near my wagon again. Unfortunately I cant recommend one, just steer clear of New Oak. Im staying true to my local mechanic.

If you are in the West BINKS FORD is a sponsor of AFF and you can discuss things with them here. http://www.fordforums.com.au/forumdisplay.php?f=298 You can read through what people say about them which seems to be all good!!
If you are out East I use Knox Ford ... along with quite a few from this side. Troy is the bloke to see there.
